Make Packing Healthy School Lunches EASY!

IMG_5194.JPGThe school year is upon us once again and with that comes a return to carpool, homework, and lunch packing. The average number of school days in the United States is 180 per year. Multiply that by my 3 children, and that’s 540 lunches I pack to keep my kids fed while at school this year alone! Continue reading “Make Packing Healthy School Lunches EASY!”

Plant-Based Eating: How to Eat at Social Gatherings

IMG_0227.JPG

I am frequently asked how my family of 5 handles social gatherings with people who do not follow the same dietary choices. Just like with meal planning, navigating food at social gatherings takes a little forethought, but it doesn’t need to be stressful. Arming yourself with a few tips and tricks will make your next get together a breeze regardless of what everyone else is eating. My girls love all kinds of soup, but my boy is much pickier. Either he doesn’t like the texture, or the color, or he suddenly hates every vegetable in that particular soup. It’s a challenge to make him happy with soup for dinner, let me tell you. Continue reading “Very Veggie Soup”

What My Plant-Based Kids Ate for Lunch Today #8: Bento Box Noodles

IMG_9120.JPG

Is it just me, or is January the time of year when parents are officially over lunch packing? I know I am. Maybe it’s because most of the colorful fruits of summer and fall are out of season. Maybe it’s the cold weather or the fact that it gets dark at 5pm that has drained me of my creativity. Whatever the reason, I just don’t feel motivated to create fun and interesting lunches the way I did back in August.
